GREAT DIESEL SOUND! The Ludmilla Diesel Locomotive (aka classes 230, 231, 232, 234) of the (former) East German Railways was built by the diesel locomotive works "October Revolution" in Woroschilowgrad/Soviet Union (today: Luhansk) in the 1970´s and 80´s. This Diesel Locomotive class has a 16-cylinder turbocharged 4-stroke diesel engine (the legendary 5D49!) with chargecooler and 3000 HP, 6 axles and is designed for heavy freight and passenger trains. This Russian Diesel Locomotive has been in service in many former Eastern European countries. The Diesel Locomotive has a nice sound, especially in the test facility at the end of the clip. This rebuilt RENFE class 333 locomotora is shunting some gravel cars at Bobadilla Estación in Andalucía in southern Spain. These diesel locomotives were built in the 1970s and refurbished from 2000-2005 by Alstom using PRIMA technology. 発車時に迫力のターボエンジン音を聴くことができます。ターボの排気タービンのキーンという音が混じっていてとてもかっこよかったです。前から４両目の後部付近の煙突から出る排ガスが真っ黒で、発車後、ホームに煙が充満しました。う～ん、懐かしい良い香り。タクシーと気動車の排ガスのにおいはやめられません。それにしても最新の電車顔負けの加速でした。

鳥取行きの特急はまかぜです。このキハ181系はキハ58系もほとんど消える中、JRに唯一残された国鉄時代の気動車特急です。残念ながら2011年春をもって完全に引退しその後廃車されるようです。私個人としては車内放送の前に鳴るオルゴール「アルプスの牧場」がとても好きで、もう一度乗車しそれを実際に聞いてみたいと思っています。

The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe hauled by a rare, preseved(so they say), South African Railways Class 32-000,General Electric U18C1 High Hood Diesel Locomotive, Diaz Beach, Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe is usually hauled by Steam Locomotives but the use of steam is not always possible due to weather conditions so Class 32-000 Diesel Locomotives are used instead.
